Mark Daniel Dunnett is a distinguished composer who has received numerous accolades for his work in film and television. He is particularly recognized for his score in the critically acclaimed drama feature film Papa, which features a notable cast including Paul Sorvino, Daryl Hannah, Robert Scott Wilson, Ann-Margret, David Proval, Vincent Pastore, Michael Madsen, and Mischa Barton. His composition for Papa earned him three awards for Best Original Score at various festivals, along with three additional nominations.

In 2025, Mark achieved major success with his score for the action/crime feature film EscoBank (distributed by Samuel Goldwyn Films and available on Amazon, Apple TV, and other platforms). He secured five festival awards for Best Original Score and Best Composer, including the prestigious Best Composer award from the Paris Art and Movie Awards (PAMAs) and the highly regarded Best Score from the Cinema Carnival International Film Festival in Pisa, Italy. He also received the Work of Excellence Trophy at the Buenos Aires International Film Festival, where he was a finalist for Best Score.

In 2026, Mark continued his winning streak by winning Best Score at the SCA Los Angeles Film Festival.

He is currently scoring the feature film Night Driver for MacArthur Park Entertainment, starring Ammie Hammer, Rainey Qualley, and Jere Burns. The project will feature a synthwave style score.

Throughout his career, Mark has composed music for more than 70 films, including over 30 feature films, as well as shorts, trailers, television series, and commercials. His work has been showcased on platforms such as AMC, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Famous Players, Universal/NBC, BET, YouTube, and Google Play, among others.

Born in Toronto, Canada, Mark’s interest in music began at age twelve when he first picked up his father’s guitar. He practiced extensively, eventually playing and performing in various bands with a focus on guitar instrumental music. He studied at the Royal Conservatory of Music for two years, concentrating on classical theory, harmony, and piano, before earning a B.A. in Film Scoring and Composition from Boston’s renowned Berklee College of Music. While at Berklee, he studied under the late world-renowned composer and professor John Bavicchi and was featured in Guitar World Magazine’s prestigious “Mike Varney Home Town Heroes” column for his outstanding guitar instrumental work.

Mark has scored and recorded with live ensembles and full orchestras. The scores for EscoBank, Papa, and Ambition’s Debt were all recorded live with full orchestra through the F.R.A.M.E.S. Project orchestra in Macedonia.

A multi-instrumentalist, Mark is proficient on guitar (electric, acoustic, classical, and dobro), piano, ukulele, bass, and mandolin.

In early 2016, Mark received his U.S. Extraordinary Ability work visa (O-1) and relocated to Los Angeles, where he continues to build and expand his film scoring career.
